Yes. The free Basic plan gives you unlimited manual expenses, three budgets, three months of history, AI chat and receipt scanning on a daily allowance, and the daily streak. Pro is $5.99 a month and adds the larger AI allowance, unlimited budgets and history, and the planning features: goals, trips, spending rules, bulk import, scheduled reports and the rest. You are never asked for a card to use Basic.
The web app runs in any browser on any device, and there is a native Android app with home-screen widgets. An iPhone app is not out yet. Whatever you log on one shows up on the others. It is one account and one set of data, not a copy per device.
No. You can write it the way you would say it ("two coffees 8k and a ride home 25k") and Sincejar turns that into separate expenses with amounts and categories. You can also photograph a receipt and let it read the total, or type it into the form yourself if you would rather. Manual entry is unlimited on every plan.
No. Sincejar never asks for bank logins, card numbers or account access, and there is no open-banking connection to break or to trust. You bring the numbers in yourself: by typing, talking, scanning a receipt, or importing a CSV your bank exported.
It answers questions about your own spending: where the money went this month, what changed since last month, whether you can afford something. It reads totals computed from your expenses rather than making figures up, and it can log or edit an expense for you when you ask it to.
Completely. AI features are off until you turn them on, and nothing is sent to an AI provider before you do. Turn them off again and manual entry, budgets, charts and reports all keep working exactly as before. You lose the chat, natural-language entry and receipt scanning, and nothing else.
Text you type into AI chat or natural-language entry, receipt images you scan, and a summary of your spending totals are sent to a third-party AI provider in the United States to produce the answer. They are not used to train anyone’s model. The full detail, including who the provider is, is in the Privacy Policy.
On Pro, yes. You can fill in a money profile once (roughly what you earn, when you are paid, your fixed costs, what you are saving for) and the coach reads it on every chat instead of asking again. The screen shows you the exact sentence it will be given, word for word, and one button deletes it.
Yes. Log an expense in the currency you actually paid in and Sincejar converts it at that day’s rate, keeping both the original amount and the converted one. Totals are never a mix of currencies added together.
On Pro, yes. Import a CSV from your bank or another budgeting app and Sincejar reads it, tells you in plain words how it interpreted the file (which column was the amount, whether dates are day/month or month/day) and shows you every row before anything is saved. Rows it cannot read are flagged rather than guessed at, and rows matching expenses you already have are marked as likely duplicates. Nothing reaches your ledger until you press the button that says so.
Yes, on Pro: a CSV of every expense, or a full JSON backup of expenses, budgets and profile. It is your data and it leaves in a format other software can read.
Sincejar keeps an append-only history of changes to your expenses, budgets, tags, categories and goals (what changed, from what to what, and when), so a deletion can be undone. History is recorded for every account; how far back you can read and restore depends on your plan.
From Settings, in the app, without emailing anyone. It permanently removes your account and everything in it, and it cannot be undone, so export first if you want a copy.
Logging on consecutive days builds a streak. The point is not the number. It is that an expense tracker only tells you anything if it is current, and the habit is the hard part. Miss a day and a streak freeze can cover it.
On Pro it watches for the things that are easy to miss: the same charge appearing twice, a subscription whose price went up, and a regular payment that quietly stopped. It flags them for you to judge. Nothing is changed or cancelled on your behalf.
On Pro you can switch on a weekly or monthly report. It says what you spent, what changed against the period before, and where the money went. Every figure in it is computed from your own expenses. You can have it in the app only, or emailed as well. Email is off unless you ask for it, and one tap turns it off again.
